What it is

fd is a program to find entries in your filesystem. It is a simple, fast and user-friendly alternative to find. — https://github.com/sharkdp/fd

Where to find it

My thoughts

It’s fast! And the arguments feel more natural to me than GNU / BSD find.

In this massive monorepo, I just searched for a directory with a specific name. find took 20.2 seconds. fd took 0.57 seconds. 🔥 For context, this repo has 21.5k directories. (fd -t d | wc -l finished in 0.742s. 😎)

Do you need it? Probably not. Is it awesome? Definitely.
